How Shipvolta works
From a GitHub repo to a live HTTPS URL in four steps.
Create an account
Sign up free. The Hobby plan includes one app. See all plans.
Add your app
Click New app, choose a name (it becomes name.shipvolta.com) and paste your public GitHub repo URL.
- Node.js needs a
package.json. We runnpm install, npm run build(if present) andnpm start. The Node version followsengines.node. - Python needs
requirements.txtand a start command, for examplegunicorn app:app -b 0.0.0.0:$PORT(or a Procfile withweb:). - Static sites need an
index.htmlin the repo root.
Your app must listen on
0.0.0.0and the port you set (also given as$PORT).- Node.js needs a
Deploy
We build your code in an isolated sandbox and start it with HTTPS. Watch the build log live. If the new version doesn't start, the previous one keeps running.
Turn on auto-deploy
Add the webhook shown on your app page to GitHub. Every push then redeploys automatically.
Connect your domain (optional)
On your app page, add your domain under Custom domains. Add the TXT record and the CNAME (or A record for a root domain) we show you, then press Verify. We set up HTTPS automatically.
Limits
Memory and CPU per app depend on your plan: Hobby gets 256 MB and 0.25 CPU and sleeps after 30 minutes without visits; Pro gets 1 GB and 1 CPU. Files written inside an app reset on each deploy, so use an external database for data.
